Page titles
The HTML <title> identifies the document in browser tabs and is an important search-result signal. Make it unique, descriptive and aligned with the actual page. Avoid keyword stuffing and near-identical titles.
Meta descriptions
A meta description can help search engines understand and present a page, but it is not a guaranteed snippet. Write a useful summary that matches the page. Do not treat a fixed character limit as a hard SEO rule.
Headings
Use headings to describe content structure. A clear H1 is useful, while H2 and H3 elements can organise sections. Do not choose headings merely to increase keyword density.
Images and alt text
Informative images need useful alternative text. Decorative images can use an empty alt attribute. Describe the image's purpose rather than stuffing keywords.
Links
Good anchor text tells users what they will get after clicking. Important internal pages should be linked from relevant content.
Practical review
- Read the title without seeing the page.
- Read the description and check that it sets accurate expectations.
- Scan headings for a clear hierarchy.
- Check meaningful images for useful alt text.
- Check important links for descriptive destinations.
The SEO Checker automates many of these structural checks.
